we need to get the brakes on
we need to grow our food at home
farmers with small holdings should plough using the horse no more diesel price hikes tractor parts etc the cost would be lower and free manure
we need to use sailing ships to move goods overseas with the free wind power backed by motor they would save billions
we need to harness the power of the rivers and seas for our energy while designing homes that use less
we need to live off the land and socialise with our neighbours start enjoying their company and stop the competition
across the world we should introduce a 4 day week creating jobs for some and time for others
families should be encourage to live near each other and the state care system would be redundant
we need more nights Sat by log fires under the stars enjoying the company of others

Agostoli-Greece

In the sky rides out the swallow
His silent sweep cuts clean
The cooling breeze of evening
In this artists calling dream

The flame of golden orange
Replaced as daytime sails
Out away from harbour
As vessel slowly trails

Without the glowing lamplight
Shadow captures my view
Removes it for the evening
To return with morning dew

The far off roar of engines
The call of distant horn
The bark of tethered mongrel
Subside as night is born
Nisaki house,Nisaki beach
Corfu
You still captivate me
The ice of the blue clear pool
The orange jewels spilling out
Citrus as we tore them
From the tree

Skin taut from the great
Warm caress of our constant voyeur
And we all laughed
Sat drank and ate
In the lush green garden
Our Eden
For two whole weeks
Paradise
We drank Greek nectar
We had a myriad of mezze
Colours that exploded
Vangough on the plate
And we baked in the heat
Hiding down by the shore when it was too hot
We set an inferno loose
And on it we fed
Sometimes sat quietly reading
As the children splashed
But the night exploded
White swords stabbing from the sky
The gods were cursing
White light again
But we didn’t cower from their assault
We climbed up to the highest
Vantage point
And watched
A challenge
Come come zeus god of the warrior
Bacchus goddess of the wine
And Neptune spat back at them his calm nature
Stirred
He smashed back at the stars

Green lush lands
Baking in the summer oven
Olive groves and tzasiki
Sun and sparkling seas
Tavern by candle all for ourselves
Greece the dream maker
Thank you
again

emerald world

Emerald world

When efforts turn away
From toils that always fail
Turning labour to the plough
Instead of wasted stride

No mans eyes shall see again
Your hate filled or forgiving stare
No rage flared nostrils through the flames
And evil withers in its pain

When the good reap all rewards
And flowers wrap the blades of swords
And falling rain turns steel to dust
That blows out on the summer’s breath

When youth tires of ancestral past
Turns instead to hold the hands of foes
And share the warmth of his caress
As peace grows wild from friendships sowed

A carpet creeps across the line
That once barbed wire would divide
And emerald fields walk out of sight
On every hill in all mans eyes

The summer rain feeds the growth
And fertile soil holds fast
And all that witness understand
Life and love grow hand in hand

In time the planets fresh cut wounds
Are healed by summer time
And the only race is all mankind
With sunshine on their mind
